Bernice Washington Polk was born On December 30, 1935 to Horace and Emma Wilson, in Paducah, Texas. She attended the Paducah Public School system, then moved to Dallas, Texas and met and married Albert Smith Washington, and together they raised thirteen children, while maintaining employment as a domestic engineer. She then went on to retire from Rogers Electric many years later. Bernice was a loving parent, amazing grandmother and wonderful friend to all. And oh yea, an amazing cook. She will greatly be missed by everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by father, Horace Wilson, mother, Emma Bell Polk, her husband, Albert Smith brothers; Willie Joe Polk and Clyde Polk, Jr., sons; Tilmer Washington and Ovan Washington. Bernice leaves her wonderful memories to be cherished by her two daughters; Annette Cyrus, Shirley Joyce Washington, son, Anthony Washington, grandchildren; Larry Washington, Felicia Lanell Polk, Morris Vasher, Dyron Washingotn, Antonio Washington, Tamesha Washington (Markee Armstrong), Tommy Washington, four great - grandchildren; Deshawn Polk, Antonio Jr., Iyuana Washington and Keauna Armstrong, daughter - in law, Sandra Sheffield, special caretaker, Betty Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
