C LAYBORN P AUL G ILSTRAP was born on July 27, 1954 in Dallas, TX to Preston “Buddy” and Hazel Gilstrap. The fourth of six children, Paul attended schools along with his siblings in the Dallas area and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1972. Upon graduation, he chose to stay in the Dallas area and attend Southern Methodist University (SMU) pursuing a degree in Business. Down the road, Clayborn met the love of his life, Michelle Elaine Blair and they would eventually go on to marry. Together they raised three children, Clayborn Paul McClinton, Corey Blair and Malcom Blair. Paul held several job positions, most notably as a Master Pressman at Stevenson Printing and at Scottish Rites Hospital. He also served in the United States Air Force and honorably discharged becoming a proud veteran of the U.S. military. Paul gave his life to Christ and in 2008 became a proud member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. While there he decided to become more involved in church life and became a member of the choir. Paul was a gentle, caring, laid back soul with a sanguine outlook. He loved his wife, his sons, and his family deeply. And all who knew him, felt the sincerity in his words and actions. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother, Jerry Gilstrap. He leaves behind his remaining siblings, Preston Gilstrap, Vickie Gilstrap, Donald Gilstrap and Gordon Gilstrap; daughters-in-law, Stacie McClinton and Barbara Blair; and a string of grandchildren, Sierra McClinton, Carson McClinton, Courtney Blair, Emon Chadwell, Khalil Blair, Malcolm Townsend; and host of family members, relatives and friends who all loved him dearly.
