Remembering Rodrick Rodrick Sams was born on December 16, 1966, in Houston, Texas, to the late Lillian Fae Sams and Harold Sams. He was raised in Italy, Texas, and graduated from Italy High School in 1986, where he excelled in track and earned numerous state athletic honors. Rodrick worked faithfully at Second Street Baptist Church in Houston and later at Brass & Craft Warehouse in Lancaster, Texas. He was known for his quiet strength, strong work ethic, and kind spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Gerold Sams, Michael Sams, and Velinda Burks. He is survived by his siblings: Harold (Sandra) Hadley, Debra (Lester) Phillips; His Step-siblings, Stevie Sanders, Connie Sanders, and Scottie Sanders; his nephew, Warrick (Andrea) Tillis; nieces, Altaira Burks and Shadawn Burks; and a host of relatives and friends.
