T HE L IFE OF E L D OROTHY W EBB 23rd Psalms The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever. E L D OROTHY F. W EBB was born on November 22, 1937, to her late parents Pennsylvania Finley and Jannie Lee Carpenter in Mineola, TX. ElDorothy graduated High School in 1955 and went on to college to pursue her bachelor’s degree. She accepted Christ at an early age and re- dedicated her life to the Lord later in life at New Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of the late Pastor C.L. Veasey and Pastor R.L. Washington. ElDorothy was full of love; she was the protector of her family. She was the one whom in tough times, you could lean on her for support. ElDorothy never hesitated to step in and do whatever she could to protect the people she loved. ElDorothy worked for the City of Dallas from 1980 to 1988 as a School Bus Driver with her late niece Sylvia Finley. She was always the life of the party and a friend to everyone. She could always find humor in the most mundane of circumstances. With ElDorothy there was never a dull moment, she was open, honest, and straight forward; but she did it all with love. With most people as they age and get in the latter stages of life, the passion for enjoying life typically fades; but with ElDorothy, she always had that passion. Even at 84 years old, she felt she could still party with the 30-and 20-year-old. ElDorothy is preceded in death by her late siblings, Flemmi Jay Sr, Bobbie Ray Finley, Eddie Finley Sr, and her sister Geraldine Harrison. She is survived by her son’s James Webb Jr, Anthony Webb Sr (Deandrea Webb), Dwight Webb, Donald Webb, Michael Webb (Snora Webb), bonus daughter Tara Webb-Scott, 13 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews .
