Gary “ Big G ” Deon Daughtry was born November 9, 1969, Dallas, TX, to the union of George Lee Daughtry, Jr., and Barbara Delores Daughtry. He received his education in the Dallas Independent School District, where he graduated from Justin F. Kimball, Class of 1987. Gary was known for his football skills as a player and little league coach. He was also a well known barber around Dallas. Gary accepted Christ at an early age where he united membership with New Waverly Baptist Church. On July 12, 1992 he moved his membership to Concord Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Dr. E.K. Bailey. Gary is preceded in death by George L. Daughtry, Jr. (father), Barbara D. Daughtry (mother), George L. Daughtry III (brother), and Gregory D. Daughtry (brother). Gary leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his children, Destiny Daughtry, Kimberly Hawthorne, Jenika Hardeman, LaTasheona Perkins, Dejia Watson, his sisters; Edith Gardner (Robert), Alisa Ellis, his brother, Christopher Daughtry (Barbara), four grandchildren; Kyndell, Kynsley, LaVon and Noah, his “ eldest niece ” Yvette Williams and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
