Gary Bernard Ferrell was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 27, 1964 to his mother Margaret B. Ferrell .He was the youngest of nine children. He was a loving son, a lovable brother, uncle, and friend. He attended The Child Study Institute in the Fort Worth Independent School District and completed Bradley Bonnie in 1984. Gary was a gift From God to our family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, laughing, and making jokes about his siblings. It was his tradition as a brother and uncle to provide his siblings, nieces, nephews, and even their children with a funny nickname. Despite his disability and playful nature, Uncle Gary was very respected.
Gary had an infectious personality, and he never met a stranger. When he entered a new care facility in 2010, he was such a social butterfly that the facility manager recommended that he move to a group home called New Start to participate in activities and social events. It was there that Gary found one of his favorite events, A Night To Shine. An unforgettable prom experience, centered on God‘s love, for people with special needs. Each year he looked forward to getting dressed up, dancing, and enjoying the people. This event was made special each year by one of his sisters or nieces who would attend as his date. The very first time he attended A Night To Shine with his beloved brother’s wife who he affectionately called “My Cynthia”. In his free time Gary loved to watch TV. He never missed an episode of his two favorite shows PBS Arthur and Martin. Gary Bernard made his transition on June 12, 2022. Preceding him in death was his mother Margaret B. Ferrell, his sister Barbara Elaine, his brothers; Charles Wendell, Robert Stanley, Darryl Powell and his wife Cynthia Powell, his nephew Aron Choice and his grand - niece Skylar Griffin. He leaves to cherish his memory his aunt Dixie Jewel Glen, his sisters Belinda Scott, Jannessie (Donald)Choice, Margaret (Michael) Griffin, Kay Keaton and his brother Harold Lynn (Robin) Powell. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Our family would like to thank you all for the LOVE, PRAYERS, CALLS, VISITS and TEXT through these trying times. We Appreciate the LOVE and KINDNESS that GOD THE FATHER has inspired you to show us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers; asking God to hold the Ferrell Family together as one. Thank you for your friendship and love.
