Geneva Burleson

Geneva Burleson was born on July 16, 1930 in Gilmore, Texas to the parents of Hammon and Ezeilia Shaw. In her early years, she meets the love of her life, Nathaniel Tolbert and moved to Fort Worth, TX; where she birthed six children: Roderick Phillips, George Tolbert, Carlton Tolbert, James Tolbert, Machelle Fulbright, and Elizabeth Tolbert. She was a domestic worker. She was a person who enjoyed people and was full of laughter and conversations. She never met a stranger. She joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. Later, she met and married Willie Lawrence Burleson and this union came with three bonus daughters: Cynthia Burleson, Doris Burleson, and Irene Burleson. She is preceded in death by Juanita Shaw Lane, Marlon Shaw, James Shaw, Bennie Shaw, Reva Crocket, Roderick Phillips, George Tolbert, Cynthia Burleson; one great granddaughter, Asia Tolbert; and one grandson, Derrick Burleson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Clyde Shaw of California and Odessa Shaw of Fort Worth; a host of grandkids, Latoya Davis, George Tolbert, Machelle Davis, Carla Hatton, Sharonda Mimms, Koda Phillips, Alisha Cannon, Carlton Tolbert, Junever Tolbert, Carletha Tolbert, Hollin Tolbert, Ceaser Tolbert, LaTambra Tolbert, Genarva Bettis, Noolen Tolbert, Georgett Tolbert, Larisia Tolbert, Dorothy Tolbert; two special daughters-in law she loved, Deloris Tolbert and Angela Tolbert; a great grandson she raised, Eric Pollard; and a host of relative and friends.
