Celebrating the life, love and legacy of
George Junior McCoy was born on February 15, 1953 to the union of Jewel and Silas McCoy of Grapeland, TX. George received his formal education from Grapeland Independent School District and was employed by Dallas Housing Authority and Lancaster Independent School District. George accepted Christ as his Savior at Words of Faith Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the Male Chorus. In his leisure, he enjoyed doing carpentry, plumbing, singing, debating, and playing dominoes. George J. McCoy departed this life on August 20, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Jewel and Sil McCoy, sisters; Carrie Spearman and Annie Watters, brothers; Tim McCoy, Herman McCoy, and Samuel McCoy, brother-in-law; Jerry Spearman. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janice McCoy, son, George J. McCoy II, brothers; Jimmy McCoy (Regina) of Dallas, TX, Charlie (Sandra) McCoy of Flagstaff, AZ, James (Priscilla) McCoy of Corsicana, TX, Jonathan McCoy of Dallas, TX, and Johnny McCoy of Grapeland, TX, sisters; Jewel (Danny) Smith of Grapeland, TX, Joyce McCoy and Linda McCoy of Dallas, TX, and a host of loving relatives, and friends.
