Geterrick Scott Asberry, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. Born on December 1, 1997, to Deandre Zachery and Gregory Asberry, Geterrick departed this world to join the heavenly choir. He embraced the teachings of Christ at an early age, setting the foundation for a life filled with love, and compassion. Geterrick received his education in the DISD school system, where he not only gained knowledge but also formed lasting connections with classmates and teachers. His magnetic personality and genuine kindness were unparalleled, making him a cherished member of his community. He is preceded in death by his mother, Deandra Zachery, grandparents, Angela Zachery and Paul Mcmillan, as well as his great-grandparents, Ruby and Don Asberry, and Atla Zachery. His uncle Lorenzo Zachery and aunt Karman Asberry. A true family man at heart, Geterrick's loyalty knew no bounds. His presence brought warmth and light into the lives of those around him. His laughter will echo in our memories, and his kindness will serve as a beacon to guide us through dark times. In addition to his work and family life, Geterrick found joy in simple pleasures. His hobbies, including playing basketball, indulging in the thrill of boxing matches, and immersing himself in the world of video games, reflected his competitive nature and zest for life. Geterrick leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. He is survived by his father, Gregory Asberry; his daughter, Londyn Lockett-Asberry; grandparents, Melba Asberry, Scot Myers and Billy Bookman; great-grandparents, Mary Carter and Herman Myers; five brothers: Sedrick Kinner (Cristina), D'Angelo Asberry, Greg Asberry Jr, De'Aundre Steward, and Gekietheran Asberry; three sisters: O'Keitha Zachery, Kaleigha Symone', and Darrecia Morgan; Nephew: D’ Keithan Willis and Keimin Eugene, Nieces: Nevaeh Kinner, Deliliah Asberry,Vinsiona Willis and Haven Kinner,Aunts: Kietta Asberry and Jatara Asberry; Uncle: Eric Asberry,Ureca Zachery, Larry Long Jr., Victor Wilks and Jeffery Wright. Special acknowledgment goes to Alexis Lockett, Linda Johnson, April Johnson, Francine Jackson, Naye Wilson and Kimberley Wynn, along with a host of cousins and other relatives who share in the grief of losing such a remarkable soul. As we remember Geterrick, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the lasting impact of his love. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for us all.
