Mr. Homer Brown Jr. was born November 8, 1937, in Tyler, Texas to the parentage of Homer Brown Sr. and Gladys Lindsey Brown. Homer went to W.A. Peete Elementary School, middle school, and graduated from Emmett J. Scott High School in Tyler, Texas. As a young adult he accepted Christ, and attended True Vine Baptist Church in Tyler, TX. He moved from Tyler to Dallas and started working at J. P. Awalt Furniture Company on the docks and later became the shipping clerk supervisor. Homer worked there for over thirty years and retired. After moving to Dallas, through a mutual friend he met Dorris Chism and they were married June 10, 1965 and stayed together 51 years as devoted husband and wife until she passed in 2016. With their combined family they were blessed with seven children. Homer was a very caring man who loved his family and enjoyed being around his friends whenever he could until his health failed. Daddy, we will miss you more than you know. We’ve been through a lot of things good and bad, but you taught us no matter what to treat people right. We will miss the holidays and especially the family gatherings. You are in no more pain and keep resting in the arms of Jesus.

We will always love you. Deborah and Contanya

, The Greatest! I love you. RIP. Little Walt

God saw you getting tired, and a Cure was not to be So, he put his arms around you and whispered, "come to me." With tearful eyes I watched you suffer, and quickly fade away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A heart of gold stopped beating; a beautiful smile put to rest. I am now left with memories because God took the Best. Papa I will miss our long talks, laughs, your prayers, and calm voice when I was going through tough times.

Love Always, Deondria
