Ida Hayes
To know you was to love you, but to be loved by you was a gift straight from God. Grandmother you are more than a matriarch, you are a masterpiece hand-painted by the grace of God and seasoned by 96 years of wisdom, beauty, and unwavering faith. You lived with elegance, carried yourself with grace, and never lost the sparkle of your wit. Even in your quiet moments, your presence spoke volumes filled with peace, prayer, and purpose. You have a charm to lift up every room, a beauty that does not fade away, and a laugh that made us feel like everything was going to be alright. You taught us the power of a gentle answer, the strength in silence, and the joy of walking with the Lord even when the path was not easy. Grandmother, you are our prayer warrior, our encourager, our safe place. Whether you were telling us a story from "back in the day" or giving us a look that meant you were about to tell us the truth whether we were ready or not, you did it all in love. You taught us how to how to honor God, how to serve others, and how to carry ourselves with dignity and joy. Although we will miss your smile, wisdom, your stories, and your hugs, we take comfort in knowing that you are resting in the arms of the Savior you loved so deeply. Your legacy lives on in each of us in the way we pray, in how we show up for our families, and how we carry the light of Christ into the world, just like you did. We love you forever, Grandmama!
