Ms. Iris Camille Franks was born November 23, 1965 in Athens, TX to the parents of Raymond Franks and Bobbye Lois Redmon Franks. Iris attended and graduated from Skyline High School in Dallas, TX; she went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington with a dual degree in English and French. After graduation, she went to work for Congressman Louis Stokes (Cleveland, Ohio) as a speech writer. She later worked in the private sector in Seattle, Washington before moving back to the Dallas area. Iris went on to pursue a nursing degree at Texas Woman’s University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and became a registered nurse. Iris then worked at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She then began to pursue a more holistic lifestyle and became a licensed yoga instructor. Iris opened Sierra Yoga and taught yoga until her death. She enjoyed running, reading, and making scented candles. Iris was preceded in death by her parents (Raymond Franks and Bobbye Lois Redmon Franks). She leaves to cherish her memories: brother Steven Franks (Patricia) of Fate, TX - niece’s Gabrielle Franks and Chloe Franks of Fate, TX niece Sabrena Moore of Atlanta, GA; aunt Linda Hazley (Orlando) of Tulsa, OK; uncle Jimmy Redmon (Barbara) of Rowlett, TX; uncle Irby Franks (Dorothy) of Tyler, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
