Joseph
Chaquille Anthony Joseph was born on September 28th, 1992 in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands; the third of four boys. Chaquille was Christened and confirmed at the Friedensthal church. Chaquille was very active at his church participating in scripture reading, ushering, and Sunday school. He was also a boys - scout member in Troop 271. Chaquille attended the St. Croix Moravian School, St. Croix Christian Academy, John H. Woodson Jr. High School, and graduated from St. Croix Education Complex High School, SCEC, in 2009 where many of his friends knew him as “Chaq.” While Chaq attended school he captured the titles of Valedictorian and Salutatorian. He was also awarded the “BEE” title for all three schools as a winner of spelling bees. Chaq enjoyed being on top of his class due to his competitive nature, and went on to be a saxophone player and Drum Major. From the age of five, Chaq had dreams of being a major league baseball player. He played first base, outfield, and starred as a 6’5 left - handed pitcher. After graduating high school at the age of 16, Chaq attended the California University of Pennsylvania on a baseball scholarship. Chaq obtained his BS in Biology Pre - Dentistry and minor in Chemistry. At 18, Chaq joined the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated on the year of the Fraternity’s 100th Anniversary. Upon graduation from CalU, Chaq returned to St. Croix to teach Geometry and Algebra at his alma mater, SCEC. Chaq later returned to school at Texas College in Tyler Texas where he received a call to play for a minor league team. After careful consideration, Chaq turned down the offer, and chose to continue his education. He soon obtained his second degree, BA in Business Administration. Chaq moved to DFW and started his last teaching role at International Leadership of Texas teaching Senior level Physics. He was also a basketball and baseball coach, lending hundreds of hours to the development of his players. Chaq met the love of his life, Lauren, in 2017. The two began dating in the Summer of 2018, and they were married on 4 - 3 - 21. Their bundle of joy, Caleb nearly made his grand entrance on their anniversary, as he came much earlier than expected on 4 - 1 - 22. Although, a new baby presented new hurdles, the couple enjoyed the delight of having a child. The day Caleb turned 4 months old was the day Chaq was told he had a tumor in his chest. He approached his illness with headstrong determination as he did any obstacle. The Lord called him home on December 14th, 2022. Chaquille Anthony Joseph was a smart, determined, and loving man. He touched thousands of lives with his jovial spirit and maintained the values of his beloved fraternity, manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. His legacy will live on for generations to come.
