To A Loving Son I N H EAVEN

O BITUARY

W EDNESDAY , J ANUARY 24, 2024 3:00 PM

Our time together was special So were the memories we made And although you live in Heaven now Those memories never fade. I bow my head in silence And remember my son with love And I know that you are up there Watching from above Everyday’s a struggle And nothing feels the same And my heart breaks a little more Everytime I hear your name You’ll always be remembered And time may heal my heart But a piece of me is missing Since the day we had to part If Heaven is for Angels Then I know that’s where you’ll be And I know you will be waiting When Heaven calls for me.

J OSEPH A NDREW “B IG J ODIE ” B URGRAFF was born in Miami, Florida on February 10, 1999, bringing immense joy and happiness to his family from the moment he arrived. From an early age it was clear that Joseph possessed a vibrant spirit and a fearlessness that would shape his character throughout his life. Growing up in Dallas, Texas, Joseph excelled academically and graduated from Horn High School. He had a thirst for knowledge that led him to further pursue his education at Texas A&M University. Although life took him on different paths than academia, Joseph love for learning remained an integral part of who he was. Joseph had an undeniable passion for working with vehicles and possessed an extraordinary talent for fixing and building things. In addition to his mechanical talents, Joseph also found solace in playing with his beloved dogs, Nova, Oreo and Jack. A gun enthusiast at heart. Joseph personality could best be described as that of a teddy bear but one should never mistake his kindness for weakness. He possessed an uncanny ability to protect and care for those he loved. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved girlfriend, Mackenzie Haba, she was his Queen, he was her King. You didn’t see one without the other now they’re together forever. Joseph leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Regina Burgraff; brother, Thomas Benjamin (Savannah), Mateo Benjamin; sisters, Kenosha and Keianna, Ke’Mya, Quayla (soon to be niece), Brooklyn Benjamin, Kahlani; nephews, Keivione, Ramesses and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Rest peacefully now Joseph, Knowing that your presence in our lives will never fade. May your soul find solace as you embark on your next great journey beyond this world. You will forever remain in our hearts until we meet again.

I wish I could see you one more time walking through the door, but I know that is impossible. I will hear your voice no more. I know you can feel my tears and you don’t want me to cry yet my heart is broken because I can’t understand why someone so precious had to die. I pray that God will give me strength and somehow get me through as I struggle with this heartache that came when I lost you.
