Joseph Louis Johnson was born October 20, 1964 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to biological mother Lily Mae Addison. He was adopted by Ella and Jim Johnson. They raised him with brother's William, John Henry, Cleveland(Sonny), James, Ernie and Joseph Truman. Sister's Lola Johnson - Gramble and Ella Mae Johnson - Shaw. Joseph was the youngest child of Jim Johnson and Ella Swift Johnson. He was born in Winnsboro Louisiana where he graduated from high school. Joseph was a really colorful character he had his good days and he had his bad. He worked a lot of jobs learning and doing different things. He was a very giving kind of sort of happy sad fella. He loved his music and thought he could drum he could air drum but oh do not let him sing. His singing was terrible. He loved motorcycles, love them he could stop dead in his tracks when he would hear a bike roar and he could tell you what kind of bike it was too. He didn't like the monkey handle bars he could not understand how men could ride bikes like that. He loves muscle cars the challenger was his favorite car next to the mustang and he loved to dress loved his polo shirts and stripes oh my god did he like stripes. He loved green and orange. And he and his hair getting it braided getting his wife to plait it, getting his wife to put it up in the man bun on top even though she liked it combed back in a plait. He loved to eat for a little man he loves to eat and he could put it away. And he loved his wife. That ’ s what he called Oscelia big baby. He would sit and tell her all about his life in Winnsboro, with his cousins and nieces and nephews and his brothers and sisters. And the life he had when he moved to Dallas and all the times with his then wife and girls. And yes even those other hard times too. He moved to Abilene and for the life of me I don't know what he saw in it but he liked living there. We met in 2015 when he had just relocated to Abilene through my brother/best friend. And those years went by fast, almost as fast as Joseph talked. Joseph was preceded in death by his biological mother Lily Mae Addison, His parents Ella and Jim Johnson, brother's William, John Henry, Cleveland(Sonny) Johnson and sister's Aretha Johnson and Ella Johnson - Shaw. He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Oscelia Selman, Daughter's Whynita Johnson - Turner(Tyrone) and Keekee Johnson(Terry), brother's James, Ernie and Joseph Truman and sister Lola. Granddaughters La'Myriah, Madison, Tyrionna and Kaniya and Grandson Tyrone Jr., A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Tributes of love
You never said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why A million times I needed you, A million times I cried, If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn't go alone. For part of me went with you, The day God took you home.

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories, and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I’ll never part. God has you in His arms, I have you in My Heart,.
