Psalm 103 A Psalm of David LESS THE Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

B

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

Remembering Kal Cohen

Obituary Kalon Todd Cohen, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas was the fifth child born to the parents of Gloria Fern Zenobia Jobe Cohen and the late Marion Leland Cohen on March 24, 1973 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. Kalon transitioned from his labor to reward on Monday morning, February 13, 2023, to be with his Heavenly Father. Kalon’s walk with Jesus Christ began as a small child at New Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. In later years, Kalon united with the Johnson Chapel Central Community Church renamed Disciple Central Community Church (DC3) under the leadership of Pastor Marcus D. King. Kalon was a faithful member of DC3 ministry where he served on various ministries as a pillar of the church. He served proudly on the Hospitality Ministry, the Usher Board, and a faithful member of the Man Up Ministry. Kalon’s faith and dedication to the pastor and members of Disciple Central Community Church (DC3) will continue to inspire his loved ones and all who were touched by his generous spirit and kindness. His educational journey began at the age of three. Kalon started his journey at the Dallas Seventh Day Adventist School and was the Valedictorian of his class. Kalon loved music and at the age of five began taking private piano lessons. The public school system of Dallas Texas provided him with an elementary and secondary educational background. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1991. He was an excellent student throughout elementary school at T.L. Marsalis. He was a member of the T.L. Handbell Choir and a member of the band class that was taught at T.L. Marsalis where he learned to play the E-flat saxophone. He attended Oliver Wendell Holmes Middle School Academy and was a member of the concert and stage band. After graduating from Skyline High School in 1991, he furthered his education at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, TX. Throughout his life on this earth, Kalon was a very loving and caring person towards his family and friends. Kalon presented the image of competency, integrity, pride, sincerity, compassion, loving, kind hearted, respectful, and obedient. He was not one to be idle. He was always willing to exemplify charity towards whoever he encountered. Kalon was very independent and learned at an early age that “hard work and education” works hand in hand. Coming from a strong Christian family of love, faith, and respect, Kalon learned the value of church, community, education, and hard work – (elements that shaped his life). After he graduated from Prairie View A&M, his career path started with a part-time job as an employee of Sam’s Club. He then worked as a dental lab employee in Garland, TX., then on to the ER at Children’s Hospital in Dallas, TX. Family an Fiend Memories

Your gentle face and patient smile With sadness we recall You had a kindly word for each And died beloved by all. The vice is mute and stilled the heart That loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trail to part From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last We will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face No one can fill your vacant place. “In the Garden” I com to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses; An the voice I hear, falling on my ear The Son of God discloses. (Chorus) He speaks, and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody, that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing. (Chorus) I’ stay in the Garden with Him, Tho the night around me be fallig; But He bids me go, thru the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling.

Maya Angelou’s iconic poem, “When Great Trees Fall” is a reminder of the impact that a person has on the lives of others during their lifetimes. Kalon influenced the lives of his family and friends in so many ways and his life story is filled with family, friends, education, community service, honors and awards. Kalon has a wealth of knowledge and continued to be very active until his demise.

In Our Hearts We thought of your today. But that is not new. We Thought about you yesterday. And days before that too. We think of you in silence. We often speak your name. Now all we have are memories.

And your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, With which we’ll never part. God has you in His keeping, We have you in our heart. So, Kalon Todd, go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep. Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep. Legacy of Love and Memories (Chorus) And He walks with me And He talks with me, And He tells me that I am His own, And the jo we share, as we tarry there None other has ever known.

F AMILY T RIBUTE TO Kal Todd Cohen

“ The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his ways.” Psalm 37:23

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not it self, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13 “We Love You!”
