In Dallas, Texas on February 10, 1953, William & Erma Hammonds welcomed into the world their youngest son, Kenneth Eugene Hammonds. He was an active and athletic child at an early age. He went on to graduate from Lincoln High school in 1971; then attend Howard Payne University where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Education. He returned home to become a championship track coach and teacher. Kenneth would go on to father three beautiful girls, Kimberly Reeves, Jamie Johnson and Sierra Sterling, who would bear 10 grandchildren between the three of them. And find the love of his life, Alma Moore Hammonds, whom he was in - love with until God called him home. Kenneth has always had a passion for youth development, sports and teaching! He worked for over 25 years in the Dallas, Fort worth and Odessa Independent School Districts, before retiring to spend more time with his family. Beyond his professional accomplishments in the field of education, he enjoyed refereeing and hanging out in the “ Sunny South ” of Dallas (As he would often refer to it) On June 7, 2024 God called Kenneth home for eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his sister Janice Burney, parents William & Erma Hammonds, and older brothers, Billy and Micheal Hammonds. He leaves to cherish his memories, his spouse, Alma Moore - Hammonds, daughters: Kimberley Reeves, Jamie Johnson and Sierra Sterling; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
