During the transition of a loved one, the family goes through a range of emotions. It is the grace and love of God that allows us to lean on those who love us the most. Perhaps you sent a lovely card … or whispered a sincere prayer. Perhaps you sent heartfelt condolences or a text … to let us know you ’ re there. Perhaps you called and spoke the kindest words … as friends and loved ones do. Perhaps you rendered a service … that stated, “ I love you. ” The family of Larry Belcher would like to thank each of you for the kindness shown through prayer, phone calls, texts messages, cards, plants, flowers, visits, food donations, monetary donations, and various expressions of love to comfort us during this time of bereavement. Most importantly, we appreciate your presence here today. Whatever you have done to console our hearts, we graciously thank you and want you to know that you have been a blessing to us. I AM FREE Don't grieve for me now, I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full; I've savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me; God wanted me now - He set me free.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

L IFE R EFLECTIONS OF

Larry Belcher was born June 30, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Willie Clyde Belcher and Autherine Murphy Belcher. He accepted Christ at an early age, and became a member of True Light Baptist Church. Larry was a member of the choir and served on the Junior Usher Board. He was a product of Dallas ISD schools, where he attended H.S.Thompson Elementary, Pearl C. Anderson Junior High, Fred Florence Middle School ,and was a graduate of the great and mighty Lincoln High School. Not only was Larry an academic scholar, class president and a brilliant mind, but he was Class Valedictorian and made headlines on the Mighty Tigers Football team. Larry went on to matriculate through SMU as a student athlete, and began to use his gifts to champion for causes of justice while attending. He became a distinguished gentleman of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he would join a brotherhood for life. He would soon go on to begin his career as a postman for the United States Postal Office. He met and married Celinda Nixon. There were no children in their union. Larry went on to join the Potters House Church and spend some time in the PH School of Ministry. Larry would later meet and marry Lavonia Grant. Larry would eventually retire from the post office due to his mental health, and he continued to work on finding balance in life. He joined the Bruton Terrace Church of the Nazarene, where he enjoyed fellowship with family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Autherine Murphy Belcher, his wives Celinda Nixon Belcher and Lavonia Belcher respectively. We wish to acknowledge his Grandparents - Lucas Belcher/Sadie Lou Belcher Brothers - Willie W. Belcher - (Betty Jean Belcher) & Ronell Belcher (Deceased) Uncles:James A. Murphy, Eddie L. Murphy, Billy Murphy, Bobby Murphy, Lucas Belcher, Norman Belcher, Billy Fred Belcher, Henry Clay and his nephew, Antoine Belcher who also preceded him in death. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: His Father, Wille Clyde Belcher; His Daughter, Shinea C. Wright; Bonus Sons: Demond Donnell and Deadrian Donnell; His Brothers, Darrell C. Belcher (Tonja), Kevin K. Belcher, and Carl Belcher; Nieces: Evita Belcher, De ’ Adrea Mitchell, Altovise Mitchell, Cherrell Belcher Nephews: Cory and Christopher Harrington Aunties: Mozelle Campbell, Pauline Johnson, Sadie Lou Belcher, Patricia Ann Alexander - Walker.

He also leaves behind a host of cousins, relatives and friends who loved him.
