Margaret West

M ARGARET A NN S HAW W EST was born in Emerson Arkansas on June 4, 1943, to the parentage of the late Joe Shaw and Carrie Kimble. Margaret was the eldest of eleven children. Six preceded her in death, Dossie Douglas, JC West, Marie Whitfield, Lonnie West, Jasper West, and Jessie West. Grandmother Modie Robinson; Grandfather Sun Kimble, and stepfather, Alme West. Margaret attended MC Mittress School in Emerson, Arkansas. She accepted Chris at an early age and was a member of Pinehill C.M.E. Church in Emerson, Arkansas. She united in Holy Matrimony to Wilmer (Sonny) West Jr in 1962 and moved to Dallas. To this union, one child was born. Margaret was a very strong woman. She was outgoing, caring, and very outspoken. She loved the Lord, but, her biggest joy was being a mother and a grandmother. She was the rock of the family. She went above and beyond to help others. She was also the life of the party. It was never a dull moment while in her company. Her hobbies included cooking, dancing, fishing, golfing, bowling, and gardening. She loved to shop, and travel, and she was an avid reader. She was very active in the community and the residents loved her. Her words were " When I am gone, throw a big party, and don't cry for me". Margaret will be truly missed. Her infectious laugh, her personality, and her kindness. Her legacy will live on. She leaves to cherish her memories: son,

Thomas Ray West; granddaughter, Chrishondra Nichole Jones; sisters, Mae Helen Whitfield, and Annette (Rickey) Martin, of Waldo, AR; Shirley West of Magnolia, AR; brother, Victor West, Lafayette, LA; godson, Bobby Majors Jr.; bonus son, Lowveris Daniels Jr; Nieces, great-nieces, nephew, and great-nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
