MARKESHA CHERBON JERNIGAN , born April 18, 1979, in Dallas, Texas. She was the first - born child born to the union of Keith Wayne Jernigan and Fanita Hyder - Jernigan; She transitioned from this life on August 31, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at home. MARKESHA grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she attended public schools in the Dallas Independent School District up until her High School Years, when she moved to Houston, Texas where she graduated from Westbury High School. She met and fell in love with Avery Stevenson, where they have four beautiful children Percy, Parysh, Averi and Airieon; Markesha decided to attend Houston Community College Markesha accepted Christ at a young age under the guidance of her Maternal Grandmother Ms. Christine Kerney (who preceded her in death). She attended Learning God Word Deliverance House under Pastor Annie Thomas, until she could no longer physically attend; before she became too ill to work, she worked for NFI Industries. MARKESHA had a smile that lit up a room, her bubbly and fun loving personality kept everyone she met in laughter and tears, she never met a stranger, and she loved hanging out with her mom, brother, and babies; Markesha loved to travel and enjoyed a few special daddy daughter trips together as well as special trips with her mother and children; she had some very special cousins that she shared a sister cousins/brother cousin relationships with, they are Carla Jackson - Ellis, Paulette Green, Lisa, Danielle Jernigan, and Greg Searles Jr. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Charles and Ellean Jernigan; two Aunts Margaret Fuqua and Jacquelyn Jernigan; two uncles Larry and Danny Jernigan. MARKESHA leaves to celebrate the memory of her life, her father Keith Wayne Jernigan, her mother Fanita O Kibe, her four children Percy, Parysh, Averi and Airieon Stevenson, their father Avery Stevenson;(his mother Natalis Taylor) one brother Johnny (Deuante) Jernigan, one sister Sharmese Jernigan; two nephews Johnny Jernigan Jr and Yohnje’D’Marre Jernigan, one niece Kaylindell Choice; one uncle Steven Jernigan(Michelle), five aunts Gloria Allen, Ellen Blackman, Patricia Jernigan, Phyllis Lee, and Cheryl Jernigan as well as a host of relatives and friends she met along life’s journey
