Mary Jackson

M ARY L ILLIE E THRIDGE J ACKSON of Dallas, Texas was born on May 12, 1937, Sulphur Springs, TX. To the late Joseph and Allie Victoria (Bird) Ethridge. Mary passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 Lancaster TX., at the age of 86. Mary received her education at Sulphur Springs High School Class of 55. Mary was a member of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. And retired from Bank of American. Mary was a member of Captain David Philips Chapter DAR from 2006 - 2023 of Sulphur Springs, TX and DRT of Dallas TX. After retirement Mary devoted her time researching genealogy and working in her greenhouse and rose garden. With over a hundred rose bushes blooming in the springtime her yard smelled heavenly. She never passed up a sale on a declining plant because with her green thumb she could always bring it back to life. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters: Julie Secrease (Rodney) and Tracy Jackson of Lancaster, Texas; one son, Jason Rodd Jackson (Kelli) Duncanville, Texas; five grandchildren, Tony Torres, Andrew Phorne, Briniquia Ford, Julian Secrease and Jessica Torres; five great grandkids: Aspen Whiteside, Princeton Landon, Lyric Landon, Kylie Secrease and Isabella Torres; godsister Freddie Alsobrooks; and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, godmother Vida Alsobrooks, a brother Frankie Bird Ethridge.
