Michael Dwayne Winfrey a true man of God went home to be with his heavenly Father on August 3, 2025...Born on December 15, 1965 in Des Moines. Iowa...Michael is the oldest son of Jenne Winfrey-Lewis and grew up along side his 4 siblings. From an early age. It was clear Michael possessed a distinctive voice, a love of music and an expressive personality. In his younger years Michael became a boxer and learned some valuable lessons he would later preach about to his youth. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt high school and later became a DJ on the late night show for Des Moines under the DJ name of Romeo and his velvety smooth voice charmed many a women. At the age of 21 Michael accepted Christ and was actively involved in ministry up until his death. PastorMic as he was affectionately called studied at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. The institute of Children's literature and Texas Tech. Michael became an ordained minister in 2003 and moved to Texas in 2005. At his time of death He was a faithful member and Associate Pastor of Concord church under the leadership of Pastor Bryan L Carter. Michael's #1 passion has always been the youth and he has served as Youth Pastor at Graceland Missionary Baptist Church within international ministry and Faith Christian Fellowship. Pastor Michael is the proud founder of Grace and Mercy DFW fellowship Church Praiseworthy Ministries and Keepin it real Youth intervention and awareness. He is the author of four books: Soul Food 365 spiritual meals, I Hate Divorce. No weapon formed and a Children's book titled The Gift. Pastor Mic was a proud member of Oak Cliff Baptist Ministers Union, Kairos Prison Ministry, Brothers of Spirit, Faithful Men's Ministry, Grow Group leader (Concord), UMOC (Concord), Brotherhood (Concord), CSI Family ministry (Concord) and the 55 and older Seniors...He is also a Christian DJ and a photographer. Yet above all else his biggest joy besides his salvation was marrying his First love and childhood sweetheart Raenel Denise. They met in 1978 became best friends and eventually married in 2011...They were blessed with 14 beautiful years together. Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Jason and

his step-father, Johnny Lewis. Michael will forever be remembered by surviving family and friends his mother, Jenne Winfrey-Lewis; his First and only Lady, Raenel Winfrey; his three blessings that are his pride and joy: his children: Tramaine. MyKayla and Jerrid; his siblings Renna Winfrey-Adair (Dave), Jamon Winfrey and Nakisha Winters (Johnny); Paula and Ricco Winfrey (Aunt and Uncle); grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The last sermon Pastor Michael preached was on July 27, 2025, 7 days before he transitioned and it was titled "I won't Complain" Philippians 2:14-15. His three points were 1. God has always been good #2 God is still in control and #3 God deserves my praise. We believe Michael lived out this sermon every day of his life - What a fitting way for him to live and what a legacy to leave us with.
