For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me on that Day — and not to me only, but unto all those also who love His appearing. II T IMOTHY 4: 6-8 KJV As we celebrate the life of Norris Richard Jenkins Jr , we pause to recall some fond and cherished memories. Norris was the second burst of joy born to the parentage of the late Norris Sr., and Sallie Mae (Beckham) Jenkins, in Jefferson, Texas. He attended schools in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Bryan Adams High School. He worked in multiple leadership positions throughout his work career before retiring from work as a warehouse supervisor. He professed Christ early in his childhood. In his later years, he continued his commitment to the Lord and united with Calvary Temple Community Church. Norris served in the men’s choir at his church until his health began to decline. He was a determined fighter, and bravely faced his illness, vowing to try any treatment possible. It was his long-standing faith in Christ that fueled his tenacity to live. Our heavenly Father was faithful to Norris, and because of his belief in Christ he transitioned into Eternal life before sunrise on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, and great-niece, Hannah Elaine Buie. The many family members who will continue to cherish Norris’s precious memories are one son, Lunie Nelson of Dallas, Texas; a devoted sister Carolyn D. Jenkins-Ford of Richardson, Texas. He was a proud grandfather of Emanuel Pacheco – Nelson and Domniquine Nelson. He will be sorely missed by his nieces LaCania (Nikki) Johnson and Kizzey Johnson of Dallas, Texas; they both affectionately referred to him as Uncle Jun-Jun; one great-niece Alexandria Darden; and one great-nephew Jaden Buie. There are many cousins, friends, and church family, who will continue to recall the fond memories that were created along the journey through life of Norris Richard Jenkins Jr.

I N L OVING M EMORY D EAR B ROTHER In the gentle arms of silence, you now rest, Your spirit, our guiding light, forever blessed. As siblings bound by blood, our hearts intertwined, Memories of laughter, forever enshrined. Through life's winding paths, hand in hand we tread, Side by side, in sorrow and joy, we led. Your presence, a beacon, in life's darkest night, Guiding us forward, with love's pure light. Though you've journeyed beyond the earthly shore, In our hearts, your spirit shall forever soar. In the tapestry of time, a bond unbroken, Forever cherished, each word left unspoken. As we bid farewell, with tears in our eyes,

Recessional

Know, dear brother, our love never dies. Rest now, in peace, 'neath the starlit sky, Forever remembered, as angels fly high.

With love eternal, Your Sister. Your Keeper. Carolyn Jenkins - Ford
