Paul R. Middleton Jr. was born June 23, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to the late Paul R. Middleton Sr. and late Allie Mae (Billie) Middleton. Paul accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Japonica Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He enjoyed singing in the choir. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1966 and attended El Centro Community College. Paul was one of the first African American people to be drafted into the U.S. Marines Corps in 1968. In 1969, he was wounded in the Vietnam War and received a purple heart. After his service, he fulfilled his passion working alongside his father as a building contractor and carpenter. In 1971, he married Darlene Washington and to that union, one child was born. He enjoyed shooting pool and fishing. His endless love for golfing and bowling put a fuel under his fire. In trail riding, he was affectionately known as the "Mule-Skinner" and had an undeniable joy for dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Middleton Sr. and Allie Mae (Bille) Middleton, brother Kenneth Middleton Sr. and Uncle Roscoe Middleton . He leaves to cherish one child, Cheena D. Middleton, two grandchildren, Chynerra Parker and Darius Ashley and two great grandchildren, MaKenzie and Mahzi Lee, two brothers, Ronald Cecil (Ruth) and Rev.Cedric (Evelyn) Middleton, one sister, Beverly Jimison, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
