Peggie White

Peggi Spence White P EGGIE W HITE was born on April 7, 1947 to the late Mildred Pogue and the late Overton Spencer Sr. After the death of her mother, she was left in the care of her mother’s only sister, the late Eloise Williams. Peggie received Christ at an early age. She attended school in the Pittsburg School District where she received her diploma from Fredrick Douglass High School. Peggie moved to Dallas where she got her first job at Texas Instruments. After leaving T. I., she began working for Western Electric who then became AT&T, then Lucent Technology in which she retired after 31 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Demetria Spencer and Ericka Smith (Don); son, Damarjai Smith (Kadesia); grandchildren, Shametria Black (Taurus Sr.), Demarco Spencer, KeAnna Jefferson (Thomas), Antoinette Spencer, Michael Jefferson, Malihja Smith, Taqiya Neal, Gamone Sims, Damiyah Smith, Keavon Papillon, Kedric Lacy; sisters, Bettye Williams, Annie Spencer, Mildred Childs, Major Rhodes, Vera Pierce; brothers, Bobby Spencer, Robert Williams (Diane), Johnny Williams (Dee), James Morton (Mary), Alex Spencer and Overton Spencer Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren; two special cousins, Marvelin and Margaret; daughters of the heart, Yolanda Bunton and Carla Carnell; goddaughter of the heart, Anita Williams; godsons of the heart, Curtis Anderson and Laderren Davis and a host of nieces and nephews. Peggie was preceded in death by: sister, Lena Williams; brother, Buford William; daughter, Veloria Spencer and grandson, Simion Dillard.
