Peggy Ruth Davis
Ms. Peggy Ruth Davis was born in Timpson, Texas to the late E.D. Davis and Eddie Lee Bussey Davis.
Peggy received her formal education in the Dallas Public School District and a Bachelor of Arts from Dallas Baptist University. She was employed with Mobile Oil Company for over 25 years. Peggy received Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and later united with Grace Missionary Baptist Church. As an adult she joined Canaan Baptist Church where she served for many years as the President of the Usher Board. Peggy was a devoted & loving mother and grandmother to her two heartbeats La Ronda & Holli and her furry baby Braylee. She did whatever necessary to make sure they were happy, healthy and safe. Peggy loved her sister, nieces and nephews as they were her own. She was known as the “crazy fun” auntie. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family, her love, loyalty and generosity was bigger than life. Peggy leaves to cherish her memories: her only child La Ronda Davis and only grandchild Holli White-Dawson (Adrian); sister, Shirley Cobbs; sister-in-law, Velma Goodwin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her one brother, Herod Goodwin, Jr. and three sisters, Minnie Ann Page, Dorothy Jean Tatum, and Patricia Mitchell.
