Phyllis Lacy Foster, a native of Dallas, Texas, came into this world as a cherished addition to the family of Lawrence Lacy Sr. and Costello Lacy on January 5, 1960. Her life, marked by a generous spirit and a penchant for helping others, endeared her to many. Phyllis, a beacon of joy, spent over 25 years contributing her skills and dedication to Baylor College of Dentistry, leaving an indelible mark until her well - deserved retirement. Despite her quiet demeanor, Phyllis found immense happiness in simple pleasures—listening to music, honing her culinary skills, and, above all, reveling in the company of her beloved grandchildren. Family time was a source of great joy for her, and the bonds she forged with friends were cherished. Phyllis, respected and deeply loved, received her education within the Dallas Independent School District. Graduating from Bryan Adams High School, she not only excelled academically but also discovered a passion for track, finding fulfillment in the exhilarating world of running and competition. Her beauty and grace will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to love her. Phyllis ’ s journey in life intertwined with that of Samuel Harris, and from their union, three beautiful souls emerged—Samuel Harris, Phillip Harris, and LaTasha Harris. The somber notes of Phyllis ’ s story include the heart - wrenching loss of her eldest son, Samuel Harris, and the passing of her beloved parents, Costello Lacy and Lawrence Lacy Sr. The embrace of eternity also welcomed her grandparents: Nettie Jones and Colbie Jones. Two sisters, Laci Lee Lacy and Alfreda Lacy, and her Aunt Ruby as well. Samuel Harris, the father of her children, also preceded her in death. Phyllis leaves a legacy of love, survived by her son, Phillip Harris, her daughter, LaTasha Harris (Marvin Pickens), and cherished grandchildren—Natyjah Tate, Kniayh Owens, Samuel, and Sedrick Harris. In the tapestry of her life, she is fondly remembered by her sisters, Delois Johnson, Patricia Brown Fowler, Linette Lacy, her brother, Lawrence Lacy Jr., and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great - nieces and nephews. As we gather to pay our respects, let us reflect on the richness of Phyllis ’ s life, the love she shared, and the impact she made on those fortunate enough to be part of her journey.
