Robert James Hibbler, Jr. was born on October 31, 1947 to Robert and Lucille Hibbler in Batesville, Mississippi. Shortly after his birth, they moved to Dallas, TX. where he grew up and attended public schools. Robert was affectionately known as “ Bump ” and “ Weekend ” and many other names. He was also known for his ability to dance and create his own dance moves. In 1964, Robert visited Cleburne, TX, where he met Wanda Louise Grant who would eventually be his wife for approximately 2 decades. Through their union, they had 6 children. Robert worked as a shop hand and forklift operator for Santa Fe Railroad in the early 1970’ s and throughout his life he worked as a general laborer and concrete finisher. Robert enjoyed many social activities such as playing pool, dancing, card games and dominoes. He loved Blues, Bobby Blue Bland, B.B. King, Johnnie Taylor and Z.Z. Hill and all other types of good music. On Sunday, January 22, 2023, Robert departed this life of suffering and illness to his peaceful reward. Robert professed a hope and belief in God and proudly professed Jesus Christ in the Baptist faith. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucille Hibbler, three children, Gerald Craig, Darren LaDell and Donna Lucille Hibbler, one brother, Jesse B. Hibbler and two sisters, Peggy and Glenda Hibbler and a host of uncles and grandparents. Robert is survived by his children, Robert and Eulla Hibbler of Red Oak, TX, La Keitha Hibbler and Robert White of Cleburne, TX, Torrey and Maria Hibbler of Fort Worth, TX, Wayland Thomas, Brandon Vaughn and Dameon Thomas of Dallas, TX, five sisters Diane, Edith, Betty, Teresa and Avis Hibbler of Dallas, TX, three brothers, Michael Charles and Tommy Hibbler of Dallas, TX, twenty - four grand children and five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and special friend Diedra Quigley of Cleburne, TX.
