And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise . ~ Luke 23:42-43 R OBERT P ETER T RAIL was born on May 31, 1951 in Lafayette, Louisiana to the parents of Aaron and Lelia (Nero) Trail. He attended W. W. Stewart Elementary School and graduated from Charles Drew High School. After graduating from High School, he owned the seas in the United States Navy. After four years of serving his country, he trained to become a Dallas Firefighter. Robert served the City of Dallas Fire-Rescue for 32.5 years until his retirement in 2014 from Station 26. During his decades of service, he was an active member of the Black Fire Fighters Association. Robert also served on the Dallas Fire Rescuer Honor Guard from April 11, 2016, though the time of his homegoing. Robert’s genuine spirit has touched the lives of many, and he will forever be in our hearts. He was truly an anchor and a special gem in our family. He has blessed us with his witty personality, wisdom and unconditional love and support. He will be remembered for his generous heart, love for his family and a laugh that would brighten any day.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Trail Sr., mother, Lelia (Nero) Trail and brother, James Nelson Trail.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Bernadette (Dade) Trail; daughter, Zoria Alexandra Trail; his siblings, Aaron Trail Jr., Joseph Raymond Trail, John Delver Trail, Mary Renella Trail, Herman William Trail, Nettie Ann Trail; god-children, Erica Keeling, Malcolm Jacobi Trail, Andrea Keeling, Elton Royce Aaron Dancer, Gianni Gabriel Dancer.

He was baptized into the Catholic faith as an infant and accepted Jesus Christ into his life at a very young child and remained devout.
