Rodney Moore Program

O BITUARY August 18, 1955 — May 14, 2024

R ODNEY U LYSES M OORE : so many facets and talents spoke to who he was. Rodney was born August 18, 1955 to Maxine O. and Claude Moore, Sr. in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the second child of 5 boys and 1 girl. Known for his talent and creativity as a Culinary Director and Caterer, Rodney passed away on May 14, 2024 at his home in Dallas, TX. Rodney, “Ronnie”, or “Hot Rod”, whichever name you knew him best, attended Langston University, in Langston, Oklahoma where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. While at Langston University, he joined the “Langston University Marching Pride” band and served as one of the lead drum majors. Even after graduating, he wasn’t ready to stop pursuing what gave him joy. So while on this road, the journey led him to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and ultimately to “The Tribe of Judah” Dance Ministry. He danced until his health began to fail him. He also served as Culinary Director and took great pride in serving members of the congregation and pastors, Dr. Curtis Wallace and Dr. Carlos Williams. Following graduation, he became employed with AT&T, formerly known as Southwestern Bell. He started with AT&T in Oklahoma City, then took a transfer and moved to Dallas, TX. He was loved and cherished by his AT&T co-workers and after 30 years of service, he retired and began his true passion for culinary arts. Throughout his career, he showcased his talents as a dynamic caterer and decorator, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of experiencing his creations. His proudest accomplishments included not only his culinary expertise but also his ability to transform ordinary events into extraordinary experiences through his attention to detail and artistic flair. Rodney's dedication to his craft earned him admiration and respect within the industry. He was Ambitious, Creative, Focused, Compassionate and Committed, all the essential elements developed and required from Momma’s kitchen to learn to handle our Big Family. This led him to establish LeeMoore Catering in 1992. Rodney Ulyses Moore's legacy will live on through the memories of those who knew him best as a culinary artist with a heart of gold. May he rest in peace. His Legacy will live on. Rodney will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his mischievous smile, infectious laughter, delicious meals and creative presentations. He is survived by his sister, Kathy Daniel (Autry) of Plano, TX; brother, Wesley Moore (Sheila) of Oklahoma City, OK; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends for which they are too numerous to list.

PSALM 46 God is our hope and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof rage and swell, and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same. There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most Highest. God is in the midst of her,

therefore shall she not be removed; God shall help her, and that right early. Be still then, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

We are most grateful for the gift of family and friends like you, who have been so kind and thoughtful during these hours of sorrow. Your prayers, visits, calls, flowers and every act of kindness, has given us strength and inspiration for the facing of this hour. May God ever bless each and every one of you. - P ALLBEARERS Anthony Daniel Alton Guidry Norris Minter Carl Long Min.
