A Legacy of Honor and Wisdom
|
Ronald Wayne Baston, a man of honor and distinction, was born on June 29, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the union of Tommie Nell (Brackens) Baston and Augustine Baston. His formative years were shaped by the educational systems of Fort Worth, Texas, and Clovis, New Mexico, where he not only pursued academic excellence but also displayed remarkable athleticism in baseball, basketball, and notably football. His prowess on the football field at Clovis High School led to state records and an esteemed induction into the Football Hall of Fame. Upon completing his high school education, Ronald furthered his studies at West Texas State University, where he graced the football field with his talents. His patriotic spirit led him to enlist in the United States Air Force, committing himself to the noble cause of safeguarding his nation. The Air Force became his gateway to the world, allowing him to travel diverse landscapes from Japan to The Middle East, and across the United States. Ronald was a holder of Top Secret Clearance. His exceptional leadership in critical missions earned him numerous awards and honors, each a testament to his significant contributions to the security of the United States. It was amidst his service that Ronald ’ s heart found its counterpart in Sheena White (Queen Nzinga). Their union blossomed across continents, creating cherished memories wherever duty called. After a commendable 23 years of service, Ronald retired as a decorated Master Sergeant with an honorable discharge. His quest for knowledge and personal growth continued as he earned a Bachelor of Information Technology from Western Governor ’ s University. Ronald was a voracious reader and a lifelong learner, passionate about history, culture, and the human experience. His intellect was vast, and he generously shared his insights and perspectives with those around him. Master Sergeant Ronald Baston completed his final mission on May 6, 2024. He is preceded in passing by his father Augustine and brother Johnnie. Left to honor his memory and carry forward his legacy are his beloved wife, Sheena; his mother Tommie Nell; his bonus mother Priscilla; his siblings Yolanda, Sheraine (Darryl), Shirrell, Richard (Sonja), Frederick (Karen), Annetha Adenji (sister) Geniver Davis (sister) and Curtis (Maria); a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; as well as a community of friends and comrades touched by his life. An honorable mention must be made for his nephew, Kendall, whom Ronald loved and mentored with a gentle, yet firm hand. Ronald ’ s journey was one of purpose, service, and love. As we commemorate his life, we are reminded of the indelible mark he has left on the hearts and minds of all who knew him. “ Rest in peace, Master Sergeant Baston. Your mission is complete, but your influence endures. ” With deepest love and respect, The Baston/Davis Family
