The Homegoing Celebration for
A CKNOWLEDGMENT
Crossing the Bar I have worked the fertile earth and planted a garden. So I know what faith is. I have listened to the birds caroling in the morning dusk, so I know what music is. I have seen the morning without clouds after showers, so I know what beauty is. I have sat before a wood fire, with old friends, so I know what companionship is. I have walked the path of quietness along the forest floor, so I know what peace is. I have dwelt in the valley of remembrance on the hill of home, so I know what love is. I have seen the miracle of Spring, the fruitation of Summer, and the beauty of Autumn, followed by the repose of Winter, so I know what life is. And because I have perceived all of these things, I know who God is.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. ~ John 14:27-28
