Roy Allen Brown was born on October 28, 1943, to the parentage of Hurbert and Ruby Brown, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on August5, 1965. He decided to make Texas his permanent home in 1980. He married his loving wife, Alma Brown, on February 15, 1997.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Alma, two sons, Vaughn Brown, two grandsons; David and Stealy, two daughters; Michelle, and her two sons; Brian and Zack, Tammy, and her two daughters; Ashley and Emiley, five step children, Lillie Martin, and her three children; Lamont, Ramone, Lamonnia (Bink), Robert Burns, and his two children; Zanovia and Printice), Evelyn Green, and her three children; Chassitty, Paul and Kellen, Curtis Burns, and his three children; Caris, Desiree and Jacob, Renee Burns, and her three children; Qualisha, Shantillie and Shantell, one sister, Glenda, one brother-in-law, Lonnie Brigham (Freddie), one sister-in-law, Laura Brigham, and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memory his siter-in-law, Stella Brigham.
