Shalonda

Christine Louise Jackson was born September 24, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Archie Redmond and Virginia Beal. Her parents and her brother Billy Jean Redmond have preceded her in death. She grew up in Dallas and received her education in the Dallas Independent School District attending Harlee Elementary School, Lincoln and Madison High School. She graduated in 1957. Chris, as she is affectionally known to us, worked at Ellen’s Dress Shop that was located in the Deer Path Shopping Center. She loved to dress and help others to complete their outfits as well. She worked at Zoecon Industries and served as lead person for over 10 years. She then ventured out and opened her own daycare in her home. It was warmly known as “Chris’ Day Care”. She nurtured and gave love to many children during those years. No child left her house hungry. If the parents were running low on food or pampers, she would tell them don’t worry about it, I have something for them to eat and I have extra pampers. Every year she would have a Christmas party for the babies and their parents. She would say it was for the parents to get to know each other. It was really for her to spoil the babies because every child left with a gift. Whenever the parents would pick the children up in the evening, they were always clean, hair combed and brushed, greased down, and shining like new money. She met and married Robert Jackson in 1968, he preceded her in death in 1988.
