After a 29-year marriage she divorced and eventually met with and married Willie Robinson. After a 10 year relationship Willie passed away and she remained widowed until the time of her passing on August 26, 2021. Sonia Robinson was a great mother who eventually had 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grand children. She enjoyed many table games with her children including Spades, Dominoes and board games. She loved traveling when she got a chance to do so and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her children. All of her children and grandchildren loved her very much and would often seek her advice, wisdom and insight on matters of life. Mama, affectionately known as Granny by her grand children, loved to cook and she was absolutely awesome at it. Many of her secrets and recipes such as her potato salad and banana pudding cannot be matched to this day. She will be missed greatly by all of those who loved and appreciated who she was as a woman. As a pastor's child, she was privately very spiritual, though she did not often attend church. However, she had a devotion to her Bible and in prayer, and loved to discuss the Word and listen to gospel music. She eventually joined the Grace Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church on profession of faith and continued to be a member though not attending consistently. She attended Training Ground Ministries with her son Michael and her daughter-in-law Michelle who are the Pastoral leaders, and she was very much involved with her other children who attended there, along with many of her grandchildren who attended there as well. She was a great steward of her finances and paid off two houses and took care of all of her bills for many years. She was a very independent woman who enjoyed a lot of her freedom with taking herself to the movies, enjoying various outings with her friends, children, and grandchildren, and she loved going out on dates with her husband. She was a giver and loved looking after her children and doing as much as she could to ensure that they would be well established adults, then she began advising her grandchildren to do the same. Up till November 26th of 2020 on Thanksgiving after a long day of spending time with family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Mom experienced a severe stroke that left her quadriplegic and without the ability to speak. For nearly nine months she was in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation centers and she never regained these abilities, but she could certainly recognize at times a host of her family members. When visiting with her she loved to hear gospel music being played and seemed to appreciate every prayer. On August 26, 2021 Mom was found unresponsive inside of her room at a rehabilitation facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
