Thank you for letting us cry on your shoulders when no one understood our pain. Thank you for your words of encouragement when we felt like sometimes going insane. Thank you for all the meals you faithfully prepared. Thank you for teaching us how to mend our garments when they needed to be repaired. Thank you for showing us how to properly wash our clothes when they were dirty. Thank you for lifting our spirits in times where we felt so unworthy. Thank you for treating us with love and civility. Thank you for modeling kindness and humility. Thank you for encouraging us to study the Bible. Thank you for enrolling us in all the summer programs when we were idle. Thank you for allowing us to do our own deep soul search. Thank you for supporting us in going to church. Thank you for your love lessons in life on what to treasure most. Thank you for your ideas on how to treat guests and be an honorable host. Thank you for teaching us how to prepare incredible meals. Thank you for helping us get our first job and the responsibility of paying bills. Thank you for disciplining us when we knew we were wrong. Thank you for forgiving us and showing us how to be strong. Thank you for supporting us in all our childhood endeavors. Thank you for the definitions in life through experience, encyclopedias, and Webster. Thank you for being watchful and protective when we could not protect ourselves from danger. Thank you for praying for us and not pushing us away like strangers.
Thank you for all the times when you made our favorite meals and desserts. Thank you for nurturing us for nine months and well beyond our births. You are truly a treasure,
Whose motherly love has no measure We will cherish every memory of you. Thank you for keeping things real and true.
Your words, your advice, your recipes, Your ideas, and all you philosophies; We will pass on your DNA instructions and nurturing spirit of love. Through the memories of this collective love, we will impart it to our children and thank the God above. We will look for you again in that “great getting up Morning.” When Jesus cracks the skies with no more warning;
Thank you for giving us pause to think of you like a comma. Thanks be to God for the memories of you as our loving Momma. By Jon Vincent Washington Revised 9-1-2021
