Spencer Delano “ Suds ” Green was born January 5, 1939, to Spencer and Margret (Dugat) Green in Liberty, Texas. He was affectionately known as “ Suds. ” He grew up with three siblings, Roland (Fig), Claudette (Toots), and Raymond (Red). He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was baptized at Trinity Valley Baptist Church, Pastor O.J. Beasley, Sr. Suds graduated Valedictorian from West Liberty Training School in 1956. Suds furthered his education by attending Texas Southern University where he participated in the marching band. This resulted in him also becoming a member of the of the Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity. He earned a degree in Business Administration. During his college days, he took part in the Civil Rights Movement Lunch Counter Sit - Ins. While such activism started at stores near campus, the sit - ins eventually spread throughout Houston. Suds deeply loved his family. He was drafted into the United States Army (2 years active, 2 years reserves, 2 years on call) until honorably discharged. It was at Texas Southern where he met the love of his life, Willie Bee (Campbell) Green. Their 47 - year marriage began New Year ’ s Eve 1961. Their legacy includes sons: : Jarrett Green, Darryl Green, Eric Green, and Pervis Green; daughters: Sheryl Green and Nicole Green. Spencer ’ s career started with General Dynamics being the 1 st Black manager serving the aerospace and defense communities. Then, later completing 20 plus years of his career of being the first Black Buyer with Bell Helicopter Textron. Spencer is preceded in death by his parents Spencer and Margret Green; wife; Willie Bee “ Sissy ” (Campbell) Green; brothers: Roland Green, and Raymond Green. He leaves to cherish his memory, sister: Claudette Green Berotte; 1 st cousin: Patricia Green - Chargois; children: Jarrett Green (Dawn); Darryl Green, Sheryl Green, Nicole Green, Eric Green, and Pervis Green (Amber); Goddaughter: Terry Lynn Baldwin; Uncle: Thomas Dugat; Aunts: Sally Dugat - Rivers (Tinard); Linda Dugat; Rena Dugat; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
