Reflections of Life T HOMAS F LOYD M ORGAN , J R . was born on October 5, 1938 in Pampa, Texas to the late Tom Morgan, Sr., and Violet Morgan. He was the eldest son born to this union. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with St. Mark C.M.E Church. He served as a steward and was a member of the church choir. He graduated from Carver High School and was on the basketball team. He attended Texas Barber College in Tyler, Texas, and received his Barber’s License. While in Tyler he met the love of his life Ruby Johnson, and they were married on June 19, 1959. He moved back to Pampa where they were blessed with three children. He was a long-time member of the Pride of Pampa Masonic Lodge # 250. Thomas retired from Texaco Oil Company after 35 years of service. He was also a successful entrepreneur owning his own barber shop and several rental properties. Alongside his father and brother, he also worked in the family businesses: The Peppermint Club and Morgan’s Barbeque. In his later years, his interests shifted to more agricultural endeavors. During those times, you would find him outside at his cattle ranch, hog pen, or selling his produce on a Saturday morning at the local Farmers Market. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Violet Morgan and two brothers, Charles Morgan and George Morgan. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, Ruby Morgan; his three children, Charles Morgan (Brenda), Kathy Martin (Fred) and Vietta Busby (Claudie); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Columbus Morgan (Pearlie); several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friend s..
