Vanessa Lewis

Life Reflections Vanessa was born July 29, 1954 to Don Erwin Tate and Annie Pearl Roberts in Dallas, Texas. She will always be remembered as living life to the fullest while dancing to the beat of her own drum. Many saw Vanessa as a wild spirit only those who truly knew Vanessa understood she loved in her own way, protected fiercely, hustling daily to care for her family living by a code few understand. She never waivered staying true to the end a “real life soldier”. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Tate Sr., and sister, Victoria Williamson. She leaves to cherish her love and memories: mother, Annie Roberts; sisters, Diane Tate, Trinina Roberts; brother, Don Tate Jr.; son Andre Lewis; daughter, LaDonna Lewis; grandchildren, Sierra Olden, Saivon Lewis, Dezrah Van, Daeja Lewis, Myesha Pearson, Julius McFarland (Fat Daddy), Reign Washington; great grandchildren, Destiny Bass, Khylan Olden, Riley Olden, Bailey Olden, Nehemiah Lewis; many nieces, nephews and friends. God looked around his garden and found an empty space, he then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. We all have journeys traveling different paths along the way, though were never meant to stay. As God watched he saw the road was getting rougher, and the hills were harder to climb. He put his arms around you and whispered, “come with me”, even though we didn’t want it to be. He closed your weary eyes lifting you up to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what’s to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. It broke our hearts to lose you, you didn’t go alone, a piece of us went with you the day God called you home.
