Vera Promise

“V ERA “A UNT D IETRA ” W ILSON P ROMISE was born to Willie B. Wilson and Joyce Singleton on August 24, 1953. She was a graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar as a member of the Class of 1972. At an early age in life, Vera accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of Heavenly Vision Baptist Church where she made a joyful noise in the choir.

Vera enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking big dinners for everyone to enjoy at home and at the Fort Worth School District where she worked for several years before her retirement. As life would proceed; she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Frank G Promise Sr. They lived in a home of peace until her call from the Lord. On July 20, 2023 the Lord picked a special flower in the garden named Vera. She peacefully transitioned from time into eternity. She was greeted by her mother and father, Willie B. Wilson and Joyce Wilson; brothers, Raymond Wilson and LeRoy Wilson; sisters, Dollie Mae Thomas, Geraldine Graves, Alice Joyce White and Ethel Marshall. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her husband, Frank G. Promise Sr.; daughters, Denese L. Mitchell, Patricia Smith and Janice Anthony (Mark); sons, Frank G. Promise Jr. (Tara) and Lynn Bell; grandchildren, Darrell Park Jr., Frank G. Promise III, Kingston Promise and ShaVera D. Promise; sisters, Willie Gene Houston and Francis Lee Walton; brother, Terry Owens; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends.
