“ He Only Takes The Best ” God saw that he was getting tired, a cure was not to be so he put his arms around him and whispered, come with me with tearful eyes, we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away although we could not make him stay a golden heart stopped beating hard working hands to rest god broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes “ the best ” Life reflections Willie D. Lewis, was born the first child to Willie George and Evelyn Lewis on November 19, 1951 in Waco, Texas. A few years later his parents moved to Dallas, Texas. Willie started his journey of servicing the community as an employee of St. John Missionary Baptist Church were he was baptized. For many years, he worked at Scottish Rite Hospital and Zale Lipshy. On August 13, 1971 Willie married Valerie Lewis and became a father to five children: Lashon Lewis, Pamela Hamilton (Derrick), Willie Lewis, ShaVonda Lewis, Willie Lewis, Jr. (Shaquita). He loved watching westerns and football a true “ Dallas Cowboy ” fan. Willie was called home on Monday November 21, 2022 and he is preceded in death by his parents Willie George and Evelyn Lewis, brothers: Jerry Lewis and Micheal Lewis. A “ Hero ” who will truly be missed by his wife Valirie Lewis, children, grandchildren, great - grand children, siblings: Nancy Lewis - Ham, Ricky Lewis, Benny Ray Lewis, and a host of family and friends.
