A Letter From Heaven When tomorrow starts without me And I'm not here to see If the sun should rise and find you With eyes filled of tears for me I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today While thinking of the many things We didn ’ t get to say I know you'll always love me As much as I love you And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too When tomorrow starts without me Don't think we're far apart For every time you think of me I'll be right there in your heart.
A Celebration of Life for Zenobia Wilson Loyd
- The Service of Celebration - Saturday, May 11, 2024 | 11:00 AM
23rd Psalms The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still wa ters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine en emies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Our beloved matriarch, Zenobia Wilson Loyd, affectionately known as Zee, graced us with her presence on May 22, 1935, in Sherrill, Arkansas, born to William and Savana Wilson. She spent her formative years in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, attending public school and embracing the teachings of Christ from an early age, finding comfort and guidance in the loving embrace of the Holy Spirit. In 1954, Zenobia made the move to Dallas, Texas, settling in the Booker T Edition. She embarked on her career journey at Southern Methodist University, where she served as a pastry cook for an impressive 43 years. Eventually, she found spiritual comfort and community at Greater Memorial Family Church under the guidance of Pastor Kelly Austin. Zenobia remained a steadfast member throughout the transition to New Greater Memorial Family Church, standing firm in her faith until her last breath. Zenobia was a master baker, finding joy in baking for her family, friends, church community, and beyond. While her personal favorite was coconut cake, her family often debated that their favorite was her german chocolate cake, sweet potato pie, and pecan pie. Zee poured her heart and soul into each dessert she made. Her family will truly miss her sweet treats. Beyond her baking talent, Zenobia's sweetness extended far beyond her cakes. She had a heart of gold, never meeting a stranger and always welcoming everyone with open arms. She particularly enjoyed card nights with her family and friends. Zee has been coined the tonk and pitty pat queen. Friday nights will never be the same without her. Zee was called home on April 28, 2024, finding solace in the embrace of God's arms within the comfort of her own home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nadell Loyd Sr., as well as her parents, William and Savana Wilson. Zee was the last surviving sibling, preceded by her brothers and sisters: L.C. Wilson, Wardell Wilson, Cassie Hutchinson, Mae D. Valentine, Ulysses Wilson, William Wilson Jr., Azella Morehead, and Jurlene Stimpson. Though it's said that no mother should have to bury a child, Zenobia exhibited grace and strength as she laid to rest two of her daughters, Joan Wilson and Gwendolyn P. Loyd. She leaves her love and legacy to: Charles Withers (Dottie), Alfred Wilson, Nadell Loyd (LaTonya), Ronnie Loyd, Tammy Loyd Johnson, and Terry Loyd Sr.; along with eight grandchildren: Ventral Wilson - Manning (Kenneth), Adrianne Withers, Zee - Donna Akinyemiju (Oluwatobi), Cierra Wilson, Ta - Monsha Loyd, Michael Davis Jr. (Shukura), Terry Loyd Jr. (Kyra), and Maleik Faheem (Aisha). Zee doted on all her grandchildren and two special great grandchildren (Hasan, Keshawn and Kaiden). She leaves behind cherished memories for a host of other great - grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends to hold dear.
