Albert Mack III was born June 9, 1948 in New Orleans, LA. He was one of six children born to the late Albert II and Erma McGee Mack.

Albert graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Simmesport, Louisiana in 1965 as the Salutatorian. He graduated from Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduation, Albert moved to Oakland, CA. Albert moved to Dallas, Texas and in 1978 he joined New Mt. Gilead Baptist Church at 1012 Bayonne Street. In 1984 Albert was ordained as a Deacon. On March 16, 1985, Albert married the love of his life, Rosie Massengill. To this union they were blessed with one daughter, Ashley Nicole Mack. Albert, worked for Verizon and retired in 2018. He enjoyed retirement life and kept busy doing odd projects around his house, church and working out at the Recreation Center of Cedar Hill. But his greatest joy was working in the yard and spending time with Rose! Albert, was on the Main Street Board and New Business Committee for the City of Cedar Hill. He loved working to improve the city and helping others. Albert, was an active member/secretary in the City Wide Brotherhood Association. He was a faithful and devoted, member of New Mt. Gilead where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Finance, Sunday School, Men Ministry, Bible Study, and Prison Ministry. Albert was “Man of the Year” 2012 – 2013 at the church. On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, God sent a “Sweet Chariot “to carry him home. The Man, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend! Deacon Albert Mack III, understood the assignment! Job well done! Rest peacefully with your crown! Those waiting in heaven to meet him are his parents, his older sister Denise Mack Hampton, and younger brother, Wayne Clyde Mack. Left to treasure his precious memories are: a loving and devoted wife, Rosie Mack; a loving daughter, Ashley Fields (Stephan); three sisters, Sharon Feggans (Michael), Ora Jacobs (Matthew) and Verdis Hensley (Lyndell). He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family The Johnsons. Along with special friends and family from the New Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Family, let us remember Albert’s strong faith and his love for his family, church and friends. His peaceful character and quiet personality warmed the hearts of all who knew him and loved him.

Even now, at this hour of our lowest point in life, you who knew Albert; knew Albert wouldn’t take nothing for being among us today. However, we can hear him speaking to us, “I’m alright”, continue to fight the Christian race of faith. I Love all of you!

I N L OVING M EMORY OF A V ERY

When God was making husbands as far as I can see, He made a special soulmate especially for me, He made a perfect gentleman, compassionate and kind, With more love and affection, than you could ever wish to find. He gave my darling husband Albert, a heart of solid gold, He gave me wonderful memories, only my heart can hold. He was someone I could talk to That no one can replace, He was someone I could laugh with, till tears ran down my face. Albert, next time we meet, will be at heaven’s door, When I see you Albert, standing there I won’t cry anymore. I will put my arms around you and kiss your smiling face, Then the pieces of my broken heart, will fall back into place. Albert, I love you and miss you so much. Love Forever, Rose

Daddy, you are the first man I knew and loved and the first man who loved me unconditionally. I have always been so proud that you were my dad. No one is ever really ready to let go. To know that

I can’t call you and hear your voice anymore is so hard to accept. But God allowed you to be here to see me grow from a child to a young woman and for you to see me get married. But, Daddy the moment that an angel came and took you by the hand, and said “Your place was ready in Heaven”, My heart was torn in two. I often lie awake at night, when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, But missing you is a heartache that never goes away.

Daddy, I know you’ll still be there for me, in my heart, watching over and guiding me. You may be gone from my sight, but you will never be gone from my heart . Love Forever, Ashley

D EAR B ROTHER /A LBERT

Our dear brother Albert now that you are gone You’re no longer here to share The bond we had together- A bond of love and care. Yet, somehow something tells us

You are watching over us- Now that from Worldly cares You finally are free. We miss you so very much, And our tears we cannot hide Yet, within our hearts, we feel You are always by our side. Ever since you went away Life has never been the same Yet, it comforts us to know That one day we’ll meet again.

We thank the Lord for you and your life! Shar, Ora and Verdis

A friendly smile, a casual touch, these are the things that mean so much. To know you are with us in our time of sorrow, sharing our prayers, today and tomorrow. God gives us the comfort in the form of family and good friends. May His peace be with you, His love never ends. Special thanks to the New Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
