Calvin Lane Program

Calvin Wayne Lane was born to the late Mr. Osie Lane and Mrs. Nettie Pearl Kidd in Lufkin, Texas on July 27, 1957. Calvin, the second eldest of five siblings, was raised in Dallas, Texas where he briefly attended grade school. Due to a rare illness Calvin was not able to able to complete secondary school. Through the prayers of his mother and loving family Calvin overcame the obstacles of his sickness and went on to become the greatest entrepreneur ever. Calvin became the World’s Biggest Fan for the Goodwill Games, a spokesperson for Disney, a doorman for Sambuca, and an actor. Calvin appeared in numerous movies and commercials. Calvin an undoubtedly selfless person, had a brighter vision for the greater good. In 1998 Calvin founded Calvin’s Kids foundation. A foundation created to help low - income children and families. One very notable highlight of Calvin’s non - profit organization was the foundations’ ability to provide 1,000’s of shoes for Hurricane Katrina victims off the cusp of his former business relationship as a model for Larry’s Shoes. Calvin was a selfless, all - around great man of God and impacted the lives of everyone he encountered. He will be dearly missed. Calvin’s memories will be forever cherished by his wife Cynthia Lane, sons, Eric Lane and Derrick Lane, Sisters; Belinda Trotty and Netta Trotty; brothers Robert Lane and Tony Trotty. 8 grandchildren; Eric Lane Jr., Erika Lane, Keshara Lane, Derrick Lane Jr., DeTrick Lane, DeShawnna Lane, LeDereon Childs, Kanye Lane. 6 Great grandchildren; Eric Lane III, Lerlani Rey Lane, Noah, Cali, Alaysia and Xaria. 5 nieces, LaTarsha Daniels, Sharonda Lane, Toni Trotty, Kiara Trotty and Khadijah Trotty. 3 nephews; Corey Lane, Reginald Trotty, Demarcus Trotty; Sister - In - law; Gean Wilson - Rusk (Darrell); special kinship Shenedra, Eryka (Mark), Terrance, Mercedes Roberts, Kingston and Don Lewis and a host of loving relatives and lifelong friends.

I have always had a soft place in My heart for you and now that Place will hold all the memories That we shared. Whether we were Laughing or fussing that was the joy That bonded us together as sister And brother. You will be missed Loved and cherished.

There are no words to describe The amount of hurt our hearts feel At this time. Loosing you made the world Pause for a moment, but it is not The end. May the memories and the love You gave us keep going and Remain as strong as you. You will be missed Everyday and loved dearly.
