Reflection o Davi Thoma, J. (Li Dav) Life An angel from heaven was called to returned to his eternal home. David Thomas Jr. affecƟonally known as “LiƩle Dave” was summoned by his Heavenly Father to fulfill his Heavenly duƟes. David was born October 21, 1980, to the parentage of David Thomas Sr. and Wille Bell Emery - Thomas. To this union, two children were blessed by God, one boy and one girl, and they were inseparable because she was his ROCK. David was a 1999 graduate of South Grand Prairie High School where he excelled in mathemaƟcs, football, and track n field. AŌer graduaƟng from high school, his career endeavor began while aƩending The University of Texas at Arlington running track and becoming a registered nurse. AŌer that tenure, David enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served in the Air Force Reserve. He aƩended the Aerospace Medical Service ApprenƟceship, Wichita Falls, TX at Sheppard Air Force Base. David loved serving his country, but his greatest love came from knowing God. He was a member of Saint John Church, Grand Prairie, TX under the leadership of Dr. Denny D. Davis who bapƟzed him at the tender age of 12. David’s working professionalism led him to various presƟgious companies that included the City of Dallas as a Rescue Operator, UPS Dallas, Fort Worth FedEx Division (his beloved FedEx Family), and other medical and shipping industries, but he never gave up on his dreams of working in the medical field. Once again, he re - enlisted into the Air Force and advanced his studies towards becoming a Radiologist Technician, but his Ɵme on this earth had already been fulfilled. David was a very caring individual and was admired by many friends, co - workers, upperclassmen, lower classmen or whomever he chose to befriend. His undeniable smile and great sense of humor will forever be missed as he spread a lot of joy to everyone he met. When David wasn’t busy, you could find him on the track running (another one of his passions) because he loved being physically fit and you could see it as he stood tall and proud. He was free spirited and always welcome new challenges, but he was compeƟƟve and didn’t like to lose and that’s what gave him the moƟvaƟon to be the best that he could be. Although David’s Ɵme on Earth was short, he had accomplished so much in his lifeƟme. The late Dr MarƟn Luther King quoted “It does not maƩer how long you live, but how well you do it.” David departed his earthly life on June 17, 2023. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted parents; David & Will Bell Thomas; an adorable sister, April Thomas; honorary siblings Sommona Ada and Chelsea Lane; maternal grandmother, CelesƟne Thomas (David was her only grandson); uncles Willie Earl Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, Mitchell Bacon, Michael Hughes, Joe Moore; Aunts, Ora Nell Traylor, Helen Reynolds, Ida Moore, Doris Blanton, Linda Bacon, Valerie Hughes, Sharon Thomas, and a host of cousins and friends.

FÙÊÃ D LiƩle Dave, when you were born, I was a proud father. I loved you more than my heart could hold. I loved watching you grow into a young man, excelling in academics, football, basketball, track and field, playing in the band and graduaƟng high school. I was so inspired when you chose to pursue your dreams of track n field at the University of Texas at Arlington and serving as a medical technician in the Air Force Reserves. You were a hard worker and had a 15 - year career with your family at FedEx. I am blessed to know that you were a man who impacted so many people’s lives in a posiƟve way. I am very proud to be your father and will love you unƟl the end of Ɵme. FÙÊÃ MÊÃ LiƩle Dave, from the day you were born, it was you and me against the world. When you were a toddler and we would sleep together at night, you would wrap your arms around my shoulders as if you were protecƟng me. Now half of me is gone. Please visit me in my sleep so that I can conƟnue on.

FÙÊÃ AÖÙ®½ Hey David, its big liƩle sister here. I am completely broken. You were my beƩer half, my joy and my light. We share the same smile, laugh, and heart. I spent my enƟre life running behind you so I could be like you. We argued at Ɵmes, but that was because I was always missing you. I thought I could keep you safe. Part of my idenƟty was making sure I was the best sister I could be and having my cape ready if you needed anything. You were the only person who knew me more than I knew myself. You would call me for my opinion on things and, truth be told, you blessed me with great wisdom on me whenever I needed it. We shared our dreams, aspira Ɵons, cracked jokes, discussed fitness & running ALL THE TIME. We talked about geƫng matching taƩoos. You always told me I was beauƟful and that I was doing a good job. You would always tell me, “Its going to be alright. You’re straight.” This has been a very hard Ɵme for me David, but the Lord is not going to give you a burden you can’t bear. What has offered comfort, is learning how many lives you impacted. You inspired, encouraged and was loved by so many people. You had a real bond with your AirForce and FexEx family. You were truly a free spirit. I will conƟnue your legacy of running, which is something we enjoyed together, and make you proud. I know you will be with me, running beside me, at every race. I love you Pookie. Love Niece Heavenly Dwelling There is a very special place above - that is filled with peace, happiness and so much love. A place where you can sing hymns of praises and be free – from sins, hatred and hosƟlity. Stay focused if this is where you want to go – so that God can greet you and open the door. Every day you must be prayed and stay in the race – if you want to reside at this holy place. So, keep your faith in God and never give in – run on unƟl you have reached the end. LiƩle Dave has earned his heavenly space – and NO ONE can take his place. Rest well my beloved nephew for I will always remember you. From the poetry of Aunt Linda Bacon
