Denise Lorraine Mack Hampton was born on June 16, 1947 in Simmesport, Louisi ana to the union of the late Albert and Erma McGee Mack. Denise was baptized, at New Bethel Baptist Church at an early age where she was a member of the Junior Choir. After moving to Dallas, Texas, she attended New Mount Gilead Baptist Church where she remained faithful until the Lord called her home. Denise received her beginning education at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Simmesport, Louisiana. She continued to further her education by attending Gram bling State University. She graduated from Bishop College with a Batchelor of Sci ence degree in 1978. Later, in 1980, she received a Master of Education degree from Prairie View A&M University. Denise was also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho So rority. Her love of learning never quenched, as she received an endorsement in Mid Management Administration from Texas Women University. Throughout her life she was a go - getter! While pursuing her education, she worked for Southwestern Bell Tel ephone Company where she advanced to supervisor. But her true passion was teach ing. She held various positions in the Dallas Independent School District as a teacher, principal, Title 1 coordinator, reading lab specialist, leadership/mentor trainer, and staff development facilitator. Only the highest level of excellence was accepted in Mrs. Hampton’s class! Denise was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1992, 1995 and 2000. Eventually, she retired from DISD, but continued to work as a substitute teacher until her passing. Denise absolutely loved her family! She could spend hours talking about how proud she was to be a part of the Mack and Stemley family. She was so happy to attend the reunions of both sides this year! While there, she regaled everyone with stories of the ancestors. She had a deep and abiding love for her children and grandchildren. She doted on her great nieces and nephews. Denise loved to have fun! She would often sing and play games with the little one, teaching them songs to perform for the family. She loved going to the casino and was one lucky lady. She was an avid watcher of her “stories”. Don’t you dare try to call her while they were on! Denise was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Richard Hampton her lifelong love and companion. From this union, two amazing children were born. Denise leaves to cherish her memory one son, Roderick D. Hampton (Markita), one daughter, Shanyeari R. Hampton, three sisters, Sharon Feggans (Michael), Ora Jacobs (Mathew) and Verdis Hensley (Lyndell). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Roderick (RJ) Hampton and Ryan Hampton, whom she absolutely adored and talked about constantly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Erma Mack and her brother, Wayne Clyde Mack. Denise was truly one of a kind! .

Lൾൺർඒ ඈൿ Lඈඏൾ A wife, a mother, a grandma too, This is the legacy we have from you.
You TAUGHT US LOVE and how to fight, You gave us strength, you gave us might. A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart, you were ALWAYS KIND. You fought for us all one way or another, Not just as a wife not just as a mother, For all of us you gave your best, Now the time has come for you to rest. So, go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, Your love in our hearts, we’ll ETERNALLY KEEP
Denis, Ou Siste You Never Said Goodbye You Never said I’m leaving You Never said Goodbye You were gone before I knew it And only God knew Why
A million times I needed you, A million times I cried If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn’t go alone For part of me went with you The day God took you home.
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil All the days of her life.
“ I’ Fee ”
Don't grieve for me now, I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full; I've savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me; God wanted me now - He set me free.
