Edward Lee Foster was born in Brandon, Texas, July 17, 1941, to the parentage of the late James Willie Foster, Sr. and Pearlean Foster. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Willie Lee Foster, Robert Earl Foster, James Willie Foster, Jr., John L. Foster, and Danny Ray Foster; and sisters, Annie Ruth (Foster) Brooks, Dorothy J. (Foster) Wright, Vearlean (Foster) Johnson and Allie Mae (Foster) Applewhite. Edward graduated from Kelly Miller High School. Shortly after high school he moved to Dallas where he became a member Greater Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorship of the late Rev. S.D. Breaux. Edward worked for GAF, United States Gypsum Company and several other corporations in the Dallas Forth Worth area. Edward loved watching all sports, however he was a fan of football and basketball. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. Edward adored and loved his family. “ Hear my cry O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I ” Psalm 61:1 - 2. On September 7, 2022, Edward ’ s earthly journey came to an end. He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Tina Ellis (Daryl); two grandchildren, Darius Ellis Jr., and Thaddius Ellis; two great grandchildren, Darius Ellis Jr. and Jeremiah Josiah Ellis; three sisters, Joyce Marie Lewis (Prince) of Los Angeles, California, Mamie Lee Sanders of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Sharon Sheffield of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Blendell Foster (Abigail), all of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
