Elizabeth Hunter
6Ö¾ M¾ãĮÖõîġ “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” Proverbs 31:25 Elizabeth Luella Hunter was born in Eureka, Texas to Hubbard Moss and Gussie Mae Cross. Elizabeth was educated in the Navarro County School system and went to nursing school where she became a certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.). Elizabeth was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She met and married O.C. Washington and to that union four children were born. Later, Elizabeth met and married Le’Shell Wilson, Sr., and after some time she met and married Benjamin F. Hunter. Sister Hunter was very active and faithful in church until the Lord called her home. She attended Gladewater Road Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor L.J. Pate, Sr. She sung in the choir and was the Mission President. Elizabeth later united with Christ Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, under the leadership of Pastor S.T. Boyd, Sr. She later went to St. John Baptist Church, Dallas, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Bertrain Bailey, but returned to Christ Trinity Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Weldon Harris. Elizabeth Hunter was employed wit Chester Clinic for over thirty years and later went into Home Health Care. She retired from active nursing in 1996 and became a loving housewife. Elizabeth was proceeded in death by her parents; Hubbard and Gussie Mae Ross, four brothers; Hubbard Jr., Willie Joe, John L. and Gus T. Moss, three sisters, Clara Mae Moss, Hattie Lee Robertson, and Ruby J. Goosby, one grandson, Ron Washington and one great grandson, Jeo’Vonta Smith. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories; her loving and devoted husband of twenty five years, Benjamin F. Hunter, her daughter, Lue Evelyn Washington Olusomiro, three sons; Willie C Washington (Melanie), Vernon D. Washington (Mae), Ronnie Washington (Ruthie) and a special granddaughter, Elizabeth (Jodie) Shaw, one brother, James Edward Moss,thirteen grandchildren, twenty nine great- grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, and nine great-great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, and her special friends, Mother Maggie Anderson and Mrs. Ruth E. Carter.
