JOHNS

Ronald Lynn Johns was born on June 29, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to the late Smiley Johns and Mary Johns. He departed this life into eternal rest on Tuesday night, August 2, 2022, at 9:01 p.m. He accepted Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He later brought his family with him and united with The Church On The Way in late 2009. He was baptized

in November of that year. In September of 2018, he was ordained a deacon in the church, where he would continue to serve as a deacon until the Lord called him home. Ronald completed his education at Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas in 1976. On July 17, 1992, after a world wind romance, Ron was united in Holy Matrimony to Shawana Jackson. Their love story continued for 30 wonderful years. Ron is preceded in death by parents Smiley and Mary Johns and daughter Temekra Hunter.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 30 years, Shawana Johns; two sons D’Angelo Johns and Xavien Johns; one daughter Catherine Johns; one brother Roderick Johns; three brother-in-laws Thomas Jackson Jr. (Carolyn), Elijah Jackson, and Pastor Jesse Jackson (Mattie); one sister-in-law Senior Pastor Feletha Davis (Pastor Johnny

Sr.); nephew William Walker; niece Krystal Walker; grands Amiyah, G’Michael and K’mare and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, The Church On The Way Family and friends.
