Obituary

Kiestia Renea Woodson was born December 22, 1970 to James and Doris Woodson in Dallas, Texas. She was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and was a 1989 graduate of Lincoln High School. Kiestia later earned an Associate’s Degree in criminal justice. She was a well-loved employee in the District Clerk’s Office where she worked in the Passport Department for several years. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life, and her greatest hope for them was to nurture a relationship with Christ. Kiestia was a faithful member of Christian Stronghold Church in Dallas, Texas, where she served on the Assimilation Team for several years until her homegoing. Known for her beautiful smile and fun personality, Kiestia enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family and friends. She developed an extended sisterhood with special friends Leola Gibson and Ferilyn Justice which spanned many years. She was preceded in death by her father, James Woodson. Kiestia leaves to cherish her life and memories: mother, Doris Woodson; sister, Tamica Woodson Owoniyi (John); her loving companion, Bobby Johnson; son, Shikeem Davis; daughter, Kenya Davis; grandsons; Khalil Davis and Kyrie Taylor; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Dear Mama, You are a phenomenal woman, mother, and everything in between. Now that you're gone, we will work to be strong then ever. We will work together to keep your unique soul alive. All the love that God put in us mama, we know how to be strong and stand on what we believe. We will make you proud. We will make you smile down on us from heaven. You're our first love and that will never change. Be our angel and we'll be yours down on earth. You deserve this happiest mama. Don't worry about us, you taught us well. We love you deeply mama you will be missed forever and always. Love,

A Child Loaned

“I’ll lend you for a little time, a child of mine,” He said, “For you to love while she lives and mourn for when she’s dead. It may be days, six or seven years, or twenty-two or three, but will you till I get back, take care of her for me?” She’ll bring her charms to gladden you, and shall her stay be brief, you’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.” “I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth returns, but there are lessons taught there I want this child to learn. I have looked the wide world over in search for teachers true and from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes I have selected you. Now will you give her all your love, not think the labor vain, nor hate me when I come to call to take her back again?” “I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, thy will be done! For all the joy thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run. We’ll shelter her with tenderness, we’ll love her while we may, and for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay. But shall the angels call her much sooner than we’ve planned, we’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.” I will miss you, daughter. God needed you more.

Kiestia, I'm so glad God chose you to be my baby sister. I will be ' forever grateful for the bond and love we shared. Your loving heart and big smile could light up a room. You made life so much fun together. My heart is grateful for all we shared. Thank you for sharing your kids and grandkids with me. I will continue to be Aunt Mica and stand in the gap on your behalf. I will continue to encourage them and give them the love and support they need to navigate this life. I will miss all our times together. It is going to be hard to do life without you, but I know in due time, God will give us comfort and peace. Your love and legacy will live on! I Love You, Baby Sister!!! You're forever in my heart!!! ' Rest well.

Love Always, Your Mother

Love,

Tamica

I Am Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following paths God made for me I took his hand I heard him call Then turned, and bid farewell to all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to sing, to play Tasks left undone must stay that way I found my peace... at close of play And if my parting left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened deep with sorrow I wish you sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full I've savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with grief Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now. He set me free!

Acknowledgment Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair, Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there;

Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say; Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Perhaps you prepared some tasty food or maybe furnished a car. Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, near at hand or from afar. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever the part.
